Although most of the research in this department can be classified as basic research several very active groups are involved in Applied Physics studies - research geared to direct applications in industry and resulting in the creation of new products.
Our department recently created the Industrial Services Office to
- actively pursue more contacts with industry to improve applied research funding,
- create job opportunities for graduate students during their graduate work and after graduation
- increase industry awareness of physics capabilities and resources.
Visit the ISO website for more information regarding services provided to departmental members.
