Marie receives a large box full of candy from Adam.
The Monkey Bar, a handmade chocolate bar from New York. Judging by the per-item cost, I suspect they are laced with gold flakes. "Almost as good as a Snickers", says Adam.
Marco peruses Marie's candy display.
Marie opens up one of the star cameras to readjust the focus, giving me an opportunity to examine its innards.
The Nikon 200mm f/2 lens, with aperture (visible) and focus (hidden) stepper motors. Barth is as entraced as I.
The star camera computer, an engineering marvel. Includes computer, hard drive, DC/DC converters, USB and Firewire drivers, ADC, 2 stepper motor controllers, and VGA/TV converter.
Mark stands on as nitrogen is purged from the cryostat.
A bird's eye view of the cryo corner. Note, along the right side of the picture, the helium blowoff line snaking its way to the window.
A nice view of the gondola, short one star camera.
Matt cooks up some dessicant for the dewar warmer.
Cryostat being warmed by dewar warmer (top left) and fake sun.
