Get up at 6:30, get dressed for breakfast.
Walk over to the galley for breakfast at 7:00.
Hang up your coat. There are 4 of these cubbies, 1100 people in
McMurdo, most of which with the same red jacket, so it's important to
remember where you put yours.
Wash your hands. They're constantly reminding us to wash our hands
often, especially before meals, to prevent the spread of viruses. This
hand-washing station is in the lobby in front of the cafeteria.
Get breakfast.
Eat.
Throw away food remains and burnables, return dishes and tray.
Put coat back on, walk back to dorm.
Dress up for the day. Since we work inside (mostly), it's not
necessary to wear all of our Extreme Weather Gear, but it is
required for us to bring it with us wherever we go.
8:00. Toss your gear in the back of the van and hop in. The drive takes 20-30
minutes in the van, but we start taking a shuttle
tomorrow ("Ivan the Terra Bus") which takes longer (we will leave half
an hour earlier).
8:30. Hop out, walk to highbay.
Work.
11:30. Wash hands for lunch.
Lunch at the LDB (Long Duration Balloon) galley. Matt the cook
presides.
More work.
17:30. Dress up to leave for the day.
Walk back to the van.
A short rest before dinner at 18:00 or 18:15.
Dinner, after washing hands, of course.
Browse the shop, located in the same building as the galley, across
from the coat racks. Souvenirs and clothing to the left, video rental
back middle, alcohol back left, toiletries to the right (out of
frame) and food to the left (out of frame).
Recreate.
Bed time, hopefully by 22:00.
