Scott base, the New Zealand camp, is on the road from McMurdo to Willy field, the location of the balloon base. The ice formations in the background are ripples caused by the transition from the annual sea ice to the permanent sea ice.
Welcome sign to Scott Base. A few days ago, it said "Population: 14".
